If you're getting lots of codes and your car is running crappy, you might check to see if your battery needs to be replaced. The battery in my wagon had 8 or 9 years on it. ![]() I hadn't any idea a low battery could cause this kind of issue. My brother-in-law works for a big tractor company and he said this is a common problem that occurs with the new electronics-heavy tractors. I've had no problems since getting the new battery. However, I was replacing coils because the car ran rough and I constantly had service engine codes showing up.įinally I took it to a local German car specialist and he replaced the old battery for $300 including installation and resetting computer codes. I bought a Diehard jump starter because I couldn't afford a battery. The battery should have been replaced then, but I made it three years. I have a 2003 325i wagon that I bought 3 years ago.
